Why Loyola University?
"[Attending] Loyola was a particularly easy choice for me. [...] I wanted to spend my college career in a close knit community that shared the Jesuit values I hold close to my heart."
Why Apply to be an Ethics Fellow?
Choosing to apply to be an Ethics Fellow was a decision aligned with Elena's values and aspirations.
"Similarly to the reason I chose Loyola, I knew when the opportunity to apply to become an Ethics Fellow came around, it was something I wanted and needed to seek out."
She explained how the stipend was certainly a perk, but more importantly, the prospect of surrounding herself with like-minded individuals eager to deepen their understanding of ethics and faith, as well as meeting inspiring business leaders from the community, motivated Elena to seek out this opportunity.
What have you gained from your experience as a Fellow thus far?
Elena's journey as an Ethics Fellow has been profoundly fulfilling. She has acquired fresh perspectives on various aspects of life, developed a deep appreciation for meaningful discussion, and found continuous inspiration to serve others. As a business major, Elena notes the limited discussion in the classroom outside of financial and statistical matters. Being an Ethics Fellow has opened up avenues for self-improvement and fostered a community dedicated to personal growth, not just professionally but ethically.
"Being an Ethics Fellow facilitates the conversations to make you better and fosters a community that'll help you do just that."
What are you looking forward to in the Spring 2024 Semester?
In the upcoming spring semester, Elena looks forward to further exploring the alignment of her faith and her career in business. She is eager for more opportunities to connect with her fellow community members, deepen those relationships, and meet additional inspiring leaders. The spring semester holds the promise of continued learning, personal growth, and meaningful connections for Elena as she navigates her final year at Loyola University.
